| About Us | Back to home |
Roller skating is a sport that can be enjoyed by all and this is what we at Maidstone hope we have achieved.
Of course there is the serious and competitive side to the sport and our Skaters enter, and have been successful at many competitions held around the UK.
Nurturing and honing the talent of our Skaters has been our trainer Rachel Searing, her dedication and skills have made the club a major force in the world of Roller Dancing.
For some of our skaters, their success and talent has resulted in them being selected to represent their country at International level and with dedication, who knows, eventually to be British and even World Champions.
Rachel Searing - Senior Trainer & Coach
Rachel began skating at the age of 10, and is now a Gold medal skater. She has won many medals and trophies during her skating career, in many skating disciplines including, Free and Figures, and her specialities of OSP and Dance. She has competed with the British Precision team at the World Championships in 2001 Florence, Italy, 2002 Wuppertal, Germany, 2004 Fresno, USA and again in 2005 Rome, Italy. Not just as a competitor but as the Coach and choreographer.
She retired from competitive solo dance competitions in 2004 to become the MRDC trainer. She is assisted during dance sessions by Dani Hayon, and Natalie Hayon. Ann Haigh and Tom Bell provide tuition for our Free skating sessions.
